The First International Conference in Memory of Academician Boris L. Riftin
The First International Interdisciplinary Conference in memory of unique scholar, orientalist, sinologist, and folklorist, Academician Boris L’vovich Riftin (07.09.1932 – 03.10.2012) took place at the Institute for Oriental and Classical Studies, HSE University.
Hundreds of works—articles, monographs, albums—written and published by Boris Riftin, in Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and other Asian and European languages, are devoted to various aspects of culture of peoples of China and neighbourhoods—language, folklore, literature, folk religion, and art.
This conference was the first meeting of annual conferences which we hope to turn into an interdisciplinary and international event, worthy of the memory of Academician Riftin.
The presentations of the Conference are related to folklore, literature, folk religion, and art of China, Central, East, and Southeast Asia.
